Although it’s a predominantly urbanised area, Medway is certainly a district with much to
see and do. As you might expect, there is a lot connected with its history, and that of the
River Medway from which it takes its name, but there is also a surprising range of options
for family visitors too.
The Historic Dockyard, of course, is a great day out for all ages, especially if you are able
to arrange your trip on one of the many special event weekends. Nearby is the relatively
new ‘Dickens World’ , which is not only has the world’s
longest indoor water ride, but being entirely undercover
is a perfect place if the weather is unkind. It’s also one
of the most fun ways to introduce your children to a
classic English author!
For pure fun and adventure head for Diggerland, or be
amazed by the beauty of Rochester Cathedral, and the
stark walls of the nearby castle.
